About Garstang Camera Club

Garstang Camera Club meets at the Garstang Arts Centre on the first three Wednesdays of each month starting in September and closing for a summer break in May of the following year.

Photography is a great hobby allowing you to get out and about with your camera or create home studio photographs if you are not able to get out. Stimulate your creativity using software to enhance your images.

We have an exciting programme of events for 2020/21 including some excellent speakers on a variety of photographic subjects and a new programme of interactive workshops. Some of our experienced members will act as mentors to help with your photography and with using software such as Photoshop or Lightroom.

To help develop our photographic skills we hold the Events Cup based on our summer outings and competitions including Environment, Creatures of the World, Humanity and Anything Goes. Each of the competitions has three sections, Colour or Mono Prints and Digital Images.

As well as our regular meetings, we will also be having bi-monthly visits to various venues.

For anyone wishing to take their hobby further, we are affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union and members can enter their competitions and work to gain Awards for Photographic Merit.

Visitors and prospective new members are always given a warm and friendly welcome and we aim to encourage beginners and challenge the experienced. Whatever skills or equipment you bring your interest in photography is the only qualification needed.
