Evening All
The newsletter is a little early, and shorter, this week ‘cos I’m going to the Lakes tomorrow trying to take some images for next ‘seasons’ competitions – getting ahead is the phrase, I think!
Last week’s talk by Paul on Speed and Motion, was, by general opinion, from those members who have contacted us, one of the best so far this season – so, another feather in your cap John – cheers!
Coffee morning: Big thanks to Sue, Freda, Robin and Rhona for helping Lewis and I with this morning’s coffee morning. It was quite successful but not as busy as it has been, but hey ho, more money in the coffers!
Notices
Print exhibition – last call
Our print exhibition is from 8th April until 4th May and Maurice is, very kindly, coordinating this.
This print exhibition is open for any member to display their images and is for prints that were not awarded 1st, 2nd or 3rd, or highly commended or commended.
So could any member interested please bring their images in by this Wednesday, March 22nd. Please ensure each print is mounted, has a title and your name on the reverse. Many thanks.
Wednesday May 17th – Members ‘Presentation Evening’.
Freda tells me that bookings are now coming in so please speak to her to avoid disappointment!
The next Plein Air competition will take place on Saturday 2nd September; this is the day when the Arts Centre organise local artists to paint their chosen ‘scene’ within Garstang and the club members have been requested to ‘circulate’ the area and photograph the artists whilst they draw/paint/sketch. This proved a very successful outing for those members who took part and was very enlightening/entertaining/informative/good practice – you pick the adjective! Anyway, further info later on.
The Charles Flatt Quiz will take place on Saturday 29th April at 7.30pm at the Arts Centre and teams are required. The Spring Draw for 200 Club will take place in the interval. If you wish to enter, please speak to Anne Marie at the Arts Centre. If anyone wants to put a Camera Club team together, please speak to Mike or Lewis; teams of 4 – 6 and no entry fee.
Up and coming programme events:
- Wednesday March 22nd – Bob Sapey – ‘Live’ in the Arts Centre with a talk on Astrophotography. Sorry, not on zoom this week.
