Newsletter 26/03/23

Morning All

Another weekend another newsletter!

Spring has definitely sprung here in Forton and grass cutting is rearing its head!

Don’t forget folks, no meeting this coming Wednesday!

It was great that Bob gave us a cracking talk on astrophotography last Wednesday and we have attached a ‘Star Trails’ document sent to us from Bob; it makes interesting reading!

Bob has said he would be happy to take people out for a night photo session as and when conditions are right.

Bob says “Dates and times depend on the moon and the weather. At the moment it looks like being unsuitable as far ahead as can be predicted.”

“I can keep an eye on the conditions and let you know as soon as I think there’s a possible evening, then if people are able to respond at short notice we could go out. Star trails is simpler than Milky Way to start with. I’ll work out where would be good and keep an eye on conditions.”

“It might also help to meet up sooner with those who are interested to check they know what’s involved and that they have the right gear.”

So, in the first instance, if you are interested please email in on info@garstangcameraclub.co.uk and we can plan accordingly.

Print exhibition – very last call

Many thanks to all members who have submitted prints for the exhibition from April onwards. However, we could really do with another 10 or so to completely fill ‘our’ wall. If you haven’t yet brought any prints in, PLEASE do so!

So, we have extended the deadline to Wednesday 5th April. Please ensure each print is mounted, has a title and your name on the reverse. Many thanks.

To remind everyone: This print exhibition is open for any member to display their images and is for prints that were not awarded 1st, 2nd or 3rd, or highly commended or commended.
