He gave a full feedback and positive construction criticism on each image. Great.

Calendar images

Last call to submit entries for the calendar; many thanks to all who have done so already. Definite deadline – noon on Wednesday 26^th April.

Presentation evening

Again, very last call for members to partake in this annual event on Wednesday 17^th April. Very shortly we have to give final numbers to Betty and her team. Many thanks to all those who are able to make it!

Events Cup

First destination is to Kendal on Saturday 29^th April. Complying with the rules; to participate in and enter into the competition, you must be a member and you must only visit on that day indicated.

A day consists of 24 hours; so, you could start at 1 minute past midnight and then continue until the following midnight!

Attached is a plan of Kendal indicating the boundary of the competition.

There are numerous car parks; a quick check on Google suggests there are at least 16!

Need a lift – car share? If you want to go but struggling with transport of just want to car share to split the cost PLEASE email in and Lewis and Mike will do our best to sort it out.

Wednesday 26^th April

After Tim’s presentation we will all be judging and voting on the images submitted for the Garstang Calendar.

So, PLEASE, bring a pen/pencil! We will supply the paper.

You will be asked to judge and score each image between 10 and 20 marks.

All the images will be shown as a slide show first of all, and will then be shown individually.

Out of all the entries we will need to pick the top 36. These images will then be sent to the Arts Centre committee who will then choose the 12 final images for each month of the 2024 calendar.

So please make the effort to get to the meeting on Wednesday, not only to listen to Tim’s talk, but to join in the judging!

AGM

Hopefully you will have noticed that the AGM is to be held soon. This gives you, the members, an opportunity to put forward any ideas or thoughts you may have with regard to the running of your club. If you have any suggestions please email in and we can put it on the agenda. This is your chance to influence the direction of our club to hopefully change and/or improve what we offer!

Up and coming programme of events:

• Wednesday April 26th – presentation by Tim titled “West Africa”; plus, voting on the calendar images
• Saturday 29th April – Events Cup, 1st destination – Kendal
• Wednesday May 3rd – Presentation by Stan titled “Local Sports”. Calendar submission results; the 36 chosen.
• Tuesday May 9th – Events Cup, 2nd destination – Cleveleys seafront, Cleveleys town centre and the Fleetwood Shipwrecks. Details to follow nearer the time.
• Wednesday 10th – AGM.
• Thursday May 11th – Combined photo walks with Morecambe Camera Club here in Garstang – details to follow.
• Wednesday 17th – Presentation of Certificates and trophies.
• Wednesday May 24th – Review of images from May 11th at the Arts Centre.
