Morning All
A big thank you to all members who managed to enter some images into our 3rd internal competition, Creatures and Plants of the World.
Many members thought that Sheila judged very fairly and provided a very decent commentary describing each image and highlighting the good points and suggesting room for improvements.

Message from Ruth Lochrie (Lancaster Photographic Society):
I just wanted to share with you and Garstang Camera club that we have a professional photographer coming to us on Monday, 2nd of February to do an in-person presentation.
He is very well known and respected in the photography world and we feel privileged that he has found the time to come along to our club.
His name is Gary Gough and has many YouTube videos on Fine Art landscape photography.
We have a large space secured at St Thomas’s Centre, Lancaster, and I would like to offer an invite to your club to come along for the presentation.
The cost for individuals is only £5 either by a ticket purchased in advanced or on the door. We will also be offering refreshments at £1 and there will be a substantial raffle as well.
Here is one of his many YouTube videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCz5PcLtj70
I’ve watched many of Gary Gough’s YouTube videos and he is very good.
I’ll be going so if you would like a lift, I have 3 spare seats! If you are interested, please email in on info@garstangcameraclub.co.uk – first come first served or as Aldi says, when they are gone, they are gone!
Message from Peter Robinson:
To whom it may concern.
I have some photographic equipment that I would like to dispose of. They belonged to my late wife who unfortunately passed away last year, she had, in her earlier years, been a very keen photographer.
The attached photographs are the items that are for disposal.
I wonder whether they would be of any use to any of your members.
I do not want any money for them but if they are of any use to any of your members a small donation to St John’s Hospice in Lancaster would always be welcome.
If anyone is interested at all they can contact me on: – 07845 467619
Thanking you in anticipation,
Peter

Last Wednesday, Daryl, Sheila, the judges’ husband, gave a small talk on a future project – that was a ‘print’ day. The essence of the chat was an A – Z presentation of how to produce prints all the way from the computer to hanging it on the wall.
I promised an update but Daryl has yet to email me further details.
Now, several members expressed an interest, which is only saying, I may be interested. If you haven’t and what to express an interest please email in or speak to me next Wednesday – ta.
