Hello to all, we have had a very busy summer, what with our free course and visits throughout. Our new season has just begun and I want to take you back many years (our younger members may be surprised at this ). In my younger days ie the 50’s there were few cars, we certainly didn’t have one and buses, usually double deckers were the order of the day. Around works time they could be almost full and the conductor could be heard to shout “standing room only, pass right down the bus….plenty of room on top. “There were three signs in each bus, two downstairs saying “ no smoking and no spitting “ the upstairs one just “no spitting “ ! You can now see why there was plenty of room on top ! A foggy day in London town . It was nearly like this on our first two meetings but with no signage needed in this age. We had a goodly input of new members, wall nearly bursting ate seams.
Now after that somewhat historical introduction, I will press on with our What’s On for October…..
